Preamble & Scope of the Journal

The Journal of Smart Agriculture and Extension Services (JOSAE) calls for original scientific research articles, review papers, and critical communications for upcoming issues.

Articles should focus on agricultural disciplines including:

Submission Procedure & Fees

  1. Electronic Submission: Authors should submit their manuscripts electronically via email to:
    cares.fudng@gmail.com and josaecares@fud.edu.ng
  2. Handling Fee: All submitted articles must be accompanied by scanned copy of evidence of payment of the handling fee of ₦5,000.00 (for local authors) and $25.00 (for international authors).
  3. Revisions & Acceptance: Authors whose articles are accepted with minor or major corrections will be required to send in all corrected manuscripts within the stipulated period provided in the acceptance letter before publication.
  4. Publication Fee: All authors whose articles have been accepted and corrected for final publication will pay a publication fee of ₦20,000.00 before the article is published. Scanned copy of proof of payment must accompany the accepted manuscript.
  5. Complimentary Volume: Following publication, a copy of the volume containing your article will be sent to your email, and hardcopy via post office / courier.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

  • Language & Typography: Manuscripts should be written in English, typed double-spaced, with font size 12 Times New Roman, and 2cm margins on A4 paper. Pages should be numbered at the top corner of the right margin.
  • Page Limit: Maximum number of pages is 15 pages. Every additional page beyond 15 attracts a fee of ₦1,000 per page.
  • Title & First Page: Concise title not exceeding 25 words. Followed by author(s) name(s), institutional affiliations, mailing address, phone number, and email of the corresponding author.
  • Abstract: Maximum 300 words. Should concisely state the main aim, methods, key results, and conclusion/recommendations.
  • Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords immediately below the abstract.

Introduction → Methodology / Materials & Methods → Results & Discussion → Conclusion & Recommendations → Acknowledgments → References
Tables & Figures Standards
  • Tables: Must follow scientific formatting (three horizontal lines: two at the top and one at the base). Numbered with Arabic numerals (e.g. Table 1) with a brief title at the top.
  • Figures: Must be properly drawn in black with legend and placed close to where first mentioned in text. Numbered with Arabic numerals (e.g. Figure 1) placed at the bottom.
  • Units: The SI unit system should be used for all scientific and laboratory data.

Reference Format (APA 7th Edition)

The journal follows the APA 7th edition convention. For references with more than 3 authors, list all up to 20; for >20 authors, list first 19 followed by ellipsis (...) and last author name.
